The City of Mati is beefing up its barangay isolation units as part of their measures to contain and control the spread of Covid-19 in the community.

With the earlier issuance of the Covid-19 Community Surveillance Protocol by Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat, City Local Government Operations Officer Joseph Porgatorio reminded all punong barangays to strictly observe the protocol, among others.

In an advisory dated June 22, Porgatorio also reminded the village officials to mobilize their health emergency response teams as well as strengthen their contact tracing teams in the monitoring of movement of people in their barangays.

The CLGOO also reminded barangay captains to strictly enforce the minimum health standards in their respective areas. He also urged the activation of barangay isolation units and to make it always available when needed.

“Let us all be alert, vigilant and extra careful. Do not allow Covid-19 to breed in our communities,” Porgatorio said.

At the moment, there are 26 BIUs located in 18 out of the total 26 barangays.

So far only the barangays of Cabuaya, Dahican, Danao, Don Martin Marundan, Mamali, Mayo, Sanghay and Tagbinonga have not established their BIUs. (CIO MATI)
