WIZZA JANE M. MORENO is a 24-year-old lass from Lower Kapayas, Brgy. Matiao. She will represent the City of Mati for the Virtual Pageant of Miss Philippines Earth 2020.

But does she have what it takes to make it to the top of the pageant?

In an online interview, Wizza Jane said that first impression of the people around her usually is that “I am strict and classy if I don’t mingle and talk to others”.

But she grew up finding herself as a blabber-girl particularly around friends and family. She is open-minded and fun to be with. This molds her to be in pageants.

She started joining pageants at the early age of three (3). Pageantry became her hobby. Eventually, she came to love everything about pageants, the stage and the healthy competition.

The day she realized how much she enjoyed pageantry was the moment she left the stage and focused on her studies.

Wizza Jane entered tertiary at the Holy Cross of Davao College taking up BS in Accountancy and graduated from the course.

While pursuring her career as an accountant, her desire to join pageant is still alive. She wanted her return to be the biggest turning point of her journey in the world of pageantry.

A competition that will quench her passion for helping others, community services and promoting advocacy that she knew will benefit everyone. Thus she entered the Miss Philippines Earth 2020.

Having an advocacy of “Sustainable Development and Footprint Awareness of Marine Biodiversity”, this will help her to create an awareness for the people on marine biodiversity.

“The concept of sustainable development can be interpreted in many different ways, but at its core is an approach to development that looks to balance different, and often competing, needs against an awareness of the environmental limitations we face in our society,” Wizza Jane said explaining her advocacy.

Wizza Jane is thankful that her journey to Miss Philippines Earth has so far been doing well.

As for all Matinians who supported her, she said, “Despite all the struggles and difficulties, rest assured that I will do my best in representing the City of Mati in the Miss Philippines Earth 2020 pageant.”

She is also extending her gratitude to her family, friends, and love ones for their unending support. Also, to her team for helping and molding her to be the best version of herself.

“I would like to thank the Local Government Unit of Mati City, headed by Hon. Mayor Michelle Rabat for all the support since Day 1 of my Miss Philippines Earth 2020 journey,” she added.

She believed that this opportunity will push her to her limits in a productive way.

Miss Moreno is now preparing herself not just physically but also mentally, spiritually and emotionally to be fit and healthy for the upcoming virtual pageant this May 24, Sunday. (CIO MATI)
