The City Health Office of Mati celebrates the National Tuberculosis Program’s World TB Day on March 6, Friday.

The one-day activity is expected to cater to 300 beneficieries from the the City Environment and Natural Resources, selected Mati TODA members and city employees.

The activity offers free x-ray exam and check-up.

A patient with findings for possible TB infection would be subjected further to the GeneXpert machine examination for confirmatory test.

The activity was facilitated by the City Health Office in partnership with the Department of Health and Provincial Health Office and the Philippine Business for Social Progress.

Dr. Ben Hur Catbagan said that for several years now, PBSB has been providing training and logistics for the treatment of drug resistant tuberculosis. With CHO Mati as their base of operations covering the entire province of Davao Oriental.

The City of Mati has 439 registered TB cases in 2019 that is now undergoing treatment for tuberculosis. (CIO MATI)
