Bangsamoro women from various Muslim organizations in the City of Mati underwent training for mushroom production conducted by the City Agriculture Office.

The training was conducted from February 26 to 27 at the Davao Commercial Agriculture Research Station (DaCARS) in Mati City.

The women belong to the Bangsamoro Women’s Organization of Davao Oriental (BaWOrDO), Bangsamoro Radio Assistance on Communication and Emergency Services (BRACES), and City Eagles of Mati OFW Family Circle Association (CEMOFCA).

The trainers from the City Agriculture Office are Romel M. Avence, June C. Gallego and Norosesalam M. Cambing.

The training was made possible by the City of Mati LGU in partnership with DA regional director Engr. Ricardo M. Onate Jr. and Agri Center Chief Enya B. Celoso.

The Bangsamoro women who underwent training will re-echo their newly-acquired skills and knowledge to the other members of their respective organizations on how to produce oyster mushrooms and how to turn them into crispy mushrooms, atchara and other byproducts.

DaCARS will also give starter kits to the newly-trained Bangsamoro women containing grain spawn, pvc neck, PP bag and the likes. (CIO MATI)
