The City of Mati LGU has identified ten tourism-oriented projects that they would apply for this year with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (Tieza) for possible funding.

In a meeting with the Technical Working Group for TIEZA projects, Tourism Officer Dashiel Indelible Jr. said that they are now preparing the paperworks for submission to the TIEZA.

Indelible identified the following projects as:

  1. City of Mati Eco-Tourism and Environment Center
  2. Dahican Tourism Belt Drainage and Water Treatment Facility
  3. Buso Hot Spring Park Spillway and Embankment
  4. Badas Fishermen’s Cross
  5. Punta Gemelina Boardwalk
  6. Tourist Assistance Centers in Mamali, Tagabakid and Badas
  7. Tourist Police Outpost in Dahican
  8. Restoration of Lighthouse in the Port Area
  9. Sleeping Dinosaur Eco-Trail Development
  10. Botanical Farm in Sudlon and Culian

City of Mati Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat has identified tourism as one of the priorities of her administration to entice investors and visitors to the city.

TIEZA is an agency under the Department of Tourism responsible for implementing policies and programs of the department pertaining to the development, promotion, and supervision of tourism projects in the Philippines.

The Subangan Museum is one of the Tieza-funded projects located in the City of Mati. (CIO MATI)
