The City of Mati LGU under the administration of Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat is alloting P2 million per barangay for this year which will be spent for soft and hard projects.

The Kilos Barangay under Dennis Tolentino is tasked to be the primary implementing agency for the said project.

One million pesos for every barangay is allocated for soft projects aimed at strengthening barangay peace and order initiatives.

The program also covers provision of financial support to the 26 barangays to strengthen their capacity to implement programs, projects and activities that have socio-economic impacts to the community.

It will also address the needs of the various barangay-based functionaries in sustaining their operation and functionality supportive of the development directions of the barangays.

Barangays are given P250,000 for every quarter for their soft projects subject to timely submission of utilization report and liquidation of funds.

For the P1 million hard projects, each barangay have already identified and submitted the infrastructure project needed in their respective barangays consist of road concreting and rehabilitation, land purchase, construction of potable water system, multi-purpose hall, evacuation centers, reforestation, and many more.

The infrastructure projects are in conformity with the items provided for in DILG and DBM Joint Memorandum Circular regarding utilization of 20% Local Government Development Fund.

In her Ugnayan sa Barangay dialogues, Mayor Michelle never fails to inform the barangay residents and their officials of the budget allocation so that they would be aware of the available funds which they could use for the development of their barangays. (CIO MATI)
