Power utility firm Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative Inc. (Doreco) has settled its real property tax obligations to the City of Mati LGU to the tune of P13.5 million.

In a letter to City of Mati Mayor Michelle Rabat dated January 13, Doreco chief executive officer Engr. Gregory Dukil said that aside from paying their P13,504,440.47 tax obligation to the City of Mati LGU, they have also settled the same obligations to ten other municipalities and to the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental.

Dukil said they paid a total of P48,181,750.68 through the Provincial Treasurer’s Office last December 26, 2019. The payment was made for Doreco to avail of the tax amnesty granted by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan enacted thru Provincial Ordinance No. 15-27-2018.

“We hope we have properly notified your end pertaining to the aforementioned concern. Rest assured of the Doreco’s unwavering commitment as a strong and reliable ally in advancing economic progress and development within our beloved City and in the entire Province of Davao Oriental,” said Dukil.
