The City of Mati LGU launched its consultation dialogue with all 26 barangays of the city for the formulation of the Barangay Development Plan.

Dubbed as Ugnayan sa Barangay, the dialogue kicked off in Barangay Tamisan on Tuesday, February 4.

The City of Mati LGU BDP team will be going to different barangay to conduct a Barangay Development Plan to be able to interact with the community to discuss with them the issues and concerns from their barangay.

No less than Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat attended the kick-off dialogue.

“Our city mayor will be here with us today to hear what are our concerns and what projects we want & needs. I am thankful to the Mayor for prioritizing the barangay. I hope we will all participate,” said ABC President Samuel M. Rodriguez.

The issues and concerns of the people from barangay Tamisan are potable water system, farmers and fisherfolks needs, farm to market road at Taganilao, street lights, fire substation, livelihood for women sectors, illegal gambling involving minors, revive botika ng barangay, relocation site for the people of barangay Tamisan.

“Thank you to barangay captain Samuel Rodriguez and to the barangay kagawad for the accomodation. We are here in your barangay because we need to plan together with you, so that the budget of the City of Mati will go to the needs of the barangay,” said Mayor Michelle.

“The botika ng barangay has been approved by the Department of Health. I would like to inform you that health has a bigger a budget. Lingap project activated already for a free hospitalization,” added the mayor.

Mayor Michelle also announced during the BDP that she allotted budget for the women’s group of the barangay because she wants that women’s group will be given a livelihood for them to be able to help their partners.

“Promise that your concerns is my priority, if we can make it happen this year we will do it with your help. And if not hope to do it next year,” said Mayor Michelle.

The mayor also distributed rice packs to the 361 barangay residents.

The Ugnayan sa Barangay will run until March. (CIO MATI)
