City of Mati Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat attended the Joint Regional Peace and Order Council and Regional Development Council (RPOC XI-RDC XI) full council meeting held at the RDR Gym in Tagum City, Davao del Norte Monday, February 3.

Guest of honor during the meeting was Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) 11 Secretary Wendel E. Avisado of the Department of Budget and Managent (DBM).

Sec. Avisado challenged the members of RPOC 11 and RDC 11 to work together to showcase Davao Region as a model region in terms of development and security program implementation of the government.

Also presented during the meeting was the final list of the Regional Task Force- Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) priority barangays, strategic planning conference outputs, formulation of regional ELCAC strategy, and operational requirements of the RTF11-ELCAC OpCen, among others.

RDC Chairperson Jayvee Tyron Uy, governor of Davao de Oro, also assured members of RPOC11-RDC11 of RDC’s full support especially for ELCAC initiatives.

He believes that solving local communist armed conflict would lead to uninterrupted entry of development projects to hinterland communities and tourism development, among others that are expected to spell a difference in the lives of those at the peripheral areas.
