Preparation for the validation of Pujada Bay as one of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World is in full swing as the City Government of Mati and the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental conducted a collaboration meeting Tuesday, December 17.

Both city and provincial officials are joining efforts in preparation for ground assessment validation this coming January 8 to 11, 2019 for Pujada Bayโ€™s application to the Most Beautiful Bays in the World (MBBW) Club.

The ground validation is the first official act of MBWW to newly-approved members to verify claims of the delegation during the World Bays Congress in Toyoma, Japan last October 2019.This is prior to the induction for the 16th World Congress in Morocco in 2020.

Most Beautiful Bays in the World Founder and Manager Bruno Bodard and Treasurer Guy Ettiene Rousset will be coming to the City of Mati to conduct the ground validation.

Present during Tuesdayโ€™s meeting were Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat, City Councilor Eric Rabat, former city councilor Allan Andrada, Davao Oriental Provincial Natural Heritage Office Head Dolores Valdesco, City Environmental Natural Resources Officer Eddie Cobacha, City Tourism Officer Dashiel Indelible, Jr., City Agriculturist Eleanor Sambas, Department of Environment and Natural Resources representative, Philippine ARmy representative, Philippine National Police, and Coast Guard personnel.

Mayor Michelle meanwhile urged the local officials of the different barangays to support the preparation to make the validation successful.

The Philippines is one of the 26-member countries of the club, with Puerto Galera Bay as the only bay in the country included in the official MBBW list, for now. (CIO MATI)
