The City of Mati Police warned vandals, who destroyed Christmas parols hanging in the center islands of the city, of arrest if they continue destroying public properties.

Reports reaching the City Government showed that several parols were destroyed from possible slingshot projectiles.

In a statement, Mati PNP chief P/Major Bembo Aying said β€œthis is a strong stern warning for those responsible persons who would destroy government property that the PNP Mati will not hesitate to put them behind bar at all cost.”

City of Mati Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat meanwhile rued the destruction of Christmas parols saying that government funds were used in the said project and that it would be a waste of public fund if this will not stop.

The General Services Office said on Monday that they are still in the process of validating and accounting as to the cost of damage the vandals have made.
