The City Government of Mati, in cooperation with the DOSCST, offers this Community Fitness Program for all who desire supervision, direction, education, and camaraderie in their health and fitness efforts. Our vision is to help improve health and wellness by providing exercise opportunities for those who are physically out of shape or desiring more structure in their workout efforts. We aim to get you feeling better, stronger, and more energetic.

 

Business One Stop Shop opens in Mati City

Mati City (January, 2013) -- To encourage more investors in the city and to make the process easier and systematic, the City Government of Mati City opens this year’s Business One Stop Shop Program at the Pealez Activity Center, City Hall compound this city. The annual program started last January 4 and will culminate on January 20, 2013. The Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) will lead the 3 week one stop shop program. Mr Joel Capalit, BPLO Head, encouraged the businessmen in the city to either renew or start a new business to get a business permit. The BPLO set – up an all in – one desk for the very important local and national agencies, manned with personnel to provide necessary services to the clients.

Mati City installs First City IP Mandatory Representative

City of Mati, Davao Oriental. The City Government of Mati headed by its energetic and goal oriented Mayor Michelle Denise Nakpil-Rabat has fulfilled its promise to install the First City IP Mandatory Representative to the City Council.  The first in the entire Philippines.

The installation of IP Representative to the City Council of Hon. Rogelio R. Lemente is a fulfillment of a dream for the Indigenous People of the City to be recognized as part of the rich history of  the City of Mati.  When Republic Act 8371 known as the “Indigenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997 was first signed into law, it paved the way for this dream to be a reality.

Officer-in-Charge PO of Davao Oriental Ms Marilyn S. Yumon from National Commission on Indigenous People presented the Certificate of Affirmation to Hon. Rogelio R. Lemente after which immediately followed the Oath Taking done by Mayor Michelle N. Rabat amidst applause from the colorfully garbed Chieftains from the different barangays of the City of Mati.

Decked out in their tribal colors, the induction of Chairman Joanna L. Mabini from Bgy. Matiao, Vice-Chariman Gualberto D. Cagunan from Bgy. Tagbinonga, Secretary Herminda B. Miones from Bgy. Don Salvador Lopez, Treasurer Perfecto A. Antonio from Bgy. Badas, Auditor Hermano R. Garcia, Jr. from Bgy. Sainz, P.I.O. Daniel C. Maebano from Bgy. Tamisan together with its members, Rogelio R. Lemente, Bgy. Cabuaya, Paciano B. Sumimba, Bgy. Luban, Cristito C. Blas, Bgy. Lanca, Concepcion S. Kalitas, Bgy. Central, Rufino A. Mapinogos, Bgy. Macambol, Libertad L. Jumamoy, Bgy. Mayo, Dominic V. Pedraya, Bgy. Lawigan, Angel M. Pusta, Bgy. Taguibo, and Ricardo Cunat, Bgy. Culian, all Tribal Chieftains in their own right, officially launched the City Joint Tribal Council Federation.

IP Mandatory Representatives of Davao Oriental also graced this historical occasion from as far as Municipality of Banaybanay to the northern most Municipality of Boston giving support to the City IP Representative.

Chairman Joanna L. Mabini of the City Joint Tribal Council, in her acceptance speech  assured the IPs that she will do her best to ensure that the members get better opportunities and rights based on the national and regulatory laws of the country.

Mayor Michelle N. Rabat expressed her confidence and full assistance to the Lumads in their quest for recognition and promotion of their rights within the framework of the constitution.
The occasion ended with the weather echoing the warm sentiments of the lumads, that their dream is at hand.
