The City Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) facilitated the meeting of Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Mati Chapter on March 6 at Provincial Capitol Grounds in the City of Mati.

Attending the activity were Mae Belle Fontillas, officer-in-charge of the City Social Welfare and Development Office; Local Youth Development Officer and Unlad Kabataan Program focal person Esnani Mai, Jr., of the City of Mati Local Youth Development Office; and Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) officers.

The aim of the activity is to formulate plans that would help enhance the skills of PYAP members.

The said activity is also in accordance with the thrust of Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat to develop the youth’s spirit of volunteerism within their communities and encourage them to participate in nation-building.

Also during the activity, the CSWDO and LYDO distributed uniforms for the PYAP officers.

PYAP serves as the counterpart of the Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) which focuses on developing the skills and capabilities of the youth that are not fortunate enough to be in school. (CIO MATI)
