More purok leaders have received their P10,000 cash assistance from the City of Mati LGU as part of the Multi-sectoral and Multi-level Consultative Program on Peace and Development project of the City Mayor’s Office.

Last week, three purok leaders have initially received the cash assistance that will be available for all 626 puroks in 26 barangays of the City of Mati.

The cash assistance was made possible by City Ordinance No. 386 Series of 2019 which institutionalized the “city aid to purok program in order to provide financial assistance for the various needs, requirements, and activities of the puroks”.

The said ordinance was passed by the City Council on December 17, 2019.

The P10,000 cash assistance will be used by the purok leaders for their Araw ng Purok activities.

On Friday, January 17, three purok leaders have already received their cash assistance with 26 more puroks scheduled to receive theirs this week.

The said project has a total budget of P18.39 million for this year and will be used for the conduct of multi-sectoral consultations and fora, assistance, manpower capacity development, documentation and reporting, and coordination and networking. (CIO MATI)
