An estimated P113 million worth of projects from the Philippine Rural Development Program are set to be implemented in the City of Mati for the year 2020.

The projects are mostly potable water system (PWS) amounting to P50 million.

There are five spring development PWS projects with four already completed and one ongoing.

Beneficiaries of the projects would be Sanghay, Libudon, Don Salvador Lopez, Taguibo, and Tagbinonga.

Seven units of greenhouses would also be constructed.

The six projects cost P30.8 million in total.

For deep well PWS projects, four are to be implemented for this year with a total cost of P19.6 million.

The projects are located in Dawan, Mamali, Bangunay, and Lawigan.

The biggest PRDP project slated for this year in the City of Mati is the rehabilitation of the NHJ-Bantal farm-to-market road (FMR) with P60.1 million estimated cost.

The FMR project is still on its initial phase and is not expected to be completed this year.

For the PRDP Enterprise Development Component or I-REAP, a P3 million project for Fresh Banana Cardava Trading is set for implementation as well.

PRDP projects are jointly funded by the World Bank, the National Government and the participating LGUs. (CIO MATI)
