The measles outbreak in the City of Mati has so far afflicted 59 individuals with only two remaining in the hospital as of Monday, January 6, 2020.

Based from the records of the City of Mati Health Office, there are 59 reported cases of measles with only 30 confirmed.

Of the 59 cases, only two remain at the hospital while the rest were already discharged without any complications.

The youngest victim is only 25 days old while the oldest is 44 years old.

City Health Office head Dr. Ben Hur Catbagan said they are providing preventive and outbreak management services to the affected population in the city.

The DOH has advised the public to bring all suspected cases to the nearest health facility for early treatment and proper case management.

Fifteen barangays have so far been affected by the measles outbreak. These are barangays Central, Matiao, Macambol, Badas, Don Martin Marundan, Don Salvador Lopez, Mayo, Lawigan, Sainz, Libudon, Bobon, Tagabakid, Dahican, Sanghay, Don Enrique Lopez.

There are an estimated 50-60,000 population from the said affected barangays. (CIO MATI)
