TF Bantay Karne confiscates equipment of erring meat vendors

Task Force Bantay Karne of the City of Mati conducted series of inspections in the public market as well as some backyard piggeries in the city on Tuesday, December 3.

TF Bantay Karne was joined by Sofronio Lago Jr. of the National Meat Inspection Service of the Department of Agriculture Region XI.

TF Bantay Karne headed by the City of Mati Veterinarian Services Office visited Barangays Sainz, Central and Matiao.

During the visit they confiscated steel container with stand owned by Donna Belle Tubang located at the old slaughterhouse and four pieces of steel container without stand owned by Joel Teo of Sitio Magapo and Perlito Ortiz of Barangay Sainz.

The team confiscated the above mentioned items in pursuant to NMIS Administrative Order No. 6 series of 1975, adopted under the Presidential Decree No. 7 amended, City Ordinance No. 71, series of 2011 laws on health and sanitation and pertaining to slaughterhouse operations, slaughtering and sale of slaughtered animals.

Also during the visit the team issued Notice of Final Warning to Larry Tinggoy of Barangay Sainz for violating the provisions of Local Ordinance 71 series of of 2011.

The Task Force Bantay Karne is directed by City of Mati Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat to conduct inspection, monitoring, surveillance, validation of pertinent records and confiscation of meat products whether locally sourced or imported. (CIO MATI)
